CONCERT SUBSCRIPTION SERIES
RETURNS FOR 2008-2009 SEASON

Concert Series at the Cheboygan Opera House

We thank you for your patience. The Cheboygan Area Arts Council's Concert Series went into a temporary hiatus, allowing us time to concentrate on securing funding to support these programs. What many people do not understand is that the big professional performances that we have offered for over thirty years have consistently become more and more expensive, in respect to both artists' fees and production costs. Many economic factors have contributed to this circumstance, among them the rising costs of travel. Audience numbers have declined as well,
with less discretionary funds available for arts and
entertainment due to the current state of the economy.

We are now pleased to announce that we are again in a
position to offer a Concert Subscription Series on a small scale - and we begin with three (3) excellent and well established programs with both national and international reknown and reputation. We will, at the same time, continue to showcase many of our local and regional artists who have been willing to
perform on our stage in a series we call our
Benefit Concert Series. These artists perform free of charge, allowing us to keep the ticket price as low as $8.00 per person.
This enables us to reach large audiences of all economic levels.
If you haven't attended any of these concerts yet, we encourage you to do so. They are wonderful concerts,
appeal to many people, and do much to promote
our local musicians.

We are pleased to announce our
